Tournament information

Playing venue:   Vällingby sporthall .
Address:              Bräckegatan 5, Vällingby, Stockholm.

Subway:    Station Vällingby on the green line
                  (towards Hässelby strand or Vällingby).
                 
Use exit “Lyckselevägen”.

Car parking:                       
Parking is currently a big problem due to major construction work in the area. There is a parking house nearby in Vällingby Centrum. You will have to use that, or available parking spaces in the neighborhood.  Please DO NOT park your car right outside the hall on the walking area!       

Bus transports:                   
Will be scheduled between hotel Ibis and playing venue.

Look for departure times in the hall entrance and in the hotel lobby.

Lunch:            
Will be served in the Vällingby foodcourt. 5 minutes walk from the hall. 

Cafeteria:                     
Will be found in the playing hall.

Equipment:                  Stiga tables with blue surface and Stiga white *** ball.

Registration/check-in:       
All participants in group-play events must register at the information desk in the main entrance of the hall. Please note your check-in time.

Events:                  
Men’s singles, Women’s singles, junior boys and girls –17,
Boys and girls –14, Boys and girls –12 and team competition will be played in groups of 4 players/teams.
All youth group events will be played on one table per each group.
The top 2 players from each group will advance to the knock-out play-off stage.
In team competition the 1st and 2nd team reaches the quarterfinals that will be played on Friday evening.

All other events are played with the knock-out system.

All matches are decided by the best of 5 games to 11 points.

 

0-table          Matches marked “Table 0”will be given a free table and announced shortly before time.

Coaching:      Is allowed.

Time-out:      Is allowed.

Results:               Will be available on the message board in the cafeteria. Printed sheets for draws and results will be available outside the computer room in the main arena (A-hall) and will also be available at www.angby.com/angbyint

Seeding:    

Seeding has been decided by

1: World ranking as of October 2008,
2: European ranking as of august 2008,
3: Swedish ranking as of October 2008-10-10.

In some cases we had to make subjective judgments and very often we have used all those 3 alternatives in the same event.

The seeding has been made by tournament director Mikael Frank and Referee Thomas Wadsten.

    

Draws:     All group events will be drawn at the same day as the event plays.

All knock-out events will be drawn on Thursday 20th of November 11:00 o´clock at Ängby office. The draw with time schedule and tables will be placed at www.angby.com/angbyint on Thursday evening

Trophies:   
In the Men’s and Women’s singles there will be prize money for places 1-8.
In the junior events there will be prize money for places 1-4.
Trophies will be given out in all youth events for places 1-8.

Stiga and  Yasaka are also giving out prizes in the youth events.

Any taxes on prize money shall be paid by the player.

Gluing:   
Even if you use harmless glue, please use designated areas outside the practice hall.  Please respect this!

Practice:                             
Is only allowed in the playing halls before the start of the tournament. During the tournament, please use the practice hall.

 

Check in for group play must be made in the entrance of the hall no later than:

The groups will be drawn after check-in is finished for each event.

If a seeded player does not appear for a group event, a replacement will be picked by the referee.  Please note that if you are late for the check-in, you will not be able to participate.

Those who qualify from the men’s singles group stage will play their first play-off match on Friday at 15:00

Those who qualify from the women’s singles group stage will play their first play-off match on Saturday.

All seeded men´s players begin play on Friday at 15:00 or later. All seeded women´s players begin play on Saturday at 15:15 or later.  If a seeded player knows that he/she cannot participate, we kindly ask you to inform us by E-mail to kansliet@angby.com or by phone +46 8 89 67 83.
